David Hirsch makes the best pinot noir on earth, and I’m not just saying that because he’s my father in law.
My sister in law jasmine flies all over the country socializing in attempt to get the word out about this marvelous eclectic little wine. So we thought the perfect non-risk addition to their marketing efforts was to begin using social media to get the word out, in, around and blended into the conversations of the right people.
The experiment is working. When the Obamas drank the custom Hirsch blend at Blue Hill in NYC, Jasmine broke the story one her twitter feed. One of her followers is the wine columnist for the San Francisco times and has written about and visited the winery. During an event organized on Facebook, we were even approached by the producers of dog the bounty hunter about doing a reality TV show (not the right fit , but there’s an idea there). So the experiment continues, it will be interesting to see how it evolves. If Heineken can dabble, why not Hirsch?
